Sue Vaccaro

Senior Director of Government Affairs for the California Region, Comcast NBCUniversal

Sue Vaccaro, Senior Director of Government Affairs for the California Region at Comcast NBCUniversal, has over 25 years of experience in media and government and community relations. Vaccaro began her career working in radio and the movie industry then moving on to ABC Channel 7 News in San Francisco as a researcher and writer/producer. From there she became the District Representative for Congressman Vic Fazio and later went to Kaiser Permanente to lead their Public Affairs Department in the Sacramento Valley area and eventually served as the Associate Government Relations Director for the state of California. Just prior to working for Comcast, Vaccaro spent the last 15 years at Republic Services Company as the Senior Area Municipal Services Manager overseeing Government relations and municipal marketing strategies for business retention and new business development in Northern and Central CA.

Vaccaro has received many awards and honors including the California Senate Woman of the Year award, CA Lieutenant Governor Commendation, and the Kiwanis CA-Neva-HI Distinguished Service Award to name a few. She has also served as an Honorary Commander for Travis Air Force Base and was Grand Marshal for the Fairfield 4th of July Parade. Vaccaro also sits on several boards for both statewide and Bay Area organizations.

Born and raised in Fairfield, California, Vaccaro graduated from University of CA, Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and also attended the UC Berkeley Haas Business School Executive Program. Vaccaro and her husband live in Fairfield, California and have two grown children.
