Rachelle Chong is a principal in the Law Offices of Rachelle Chong and Rachelle Chong Strategic Consulting, providing expert advice to clients in the telecommunications, Internet, and energy industries. She made her mark as the first Asian American Commissioner of both the Federal Communications Commission (President Clinton appointee) and the California Public Utilities Commission (Governor Schwarzenegger appointee). During her career, she has been a partner at two international law firms, Graham & James and Coudert Brothers, and Special Counsel, Advanced Information and Telecommunications Policy for the California Technology Agency. She has also been General Counsel and V.P. Government Affairs for Broadband Office, a Kleiner Perkins start up. Recently she served as Vice President, Government Affairs for Comcast, California region. She has significant expertise as a Board member for various corporations and non-profit organizations over her career, including Corsair, Lightbridge, Authorize.net, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bay Area, and the Legal Services Trust Fund of the State of California Bar Association. Commissioner Chong is a California lawyer, and a graduate of U.C. Berkeley and U.C. Hastings College of the Law. A native Stocktonian, she now resides in San Francisco.
